The impact of your role:
Do you thrive in a fast-paced and international start-up environment, and feel excited about developing manufacturing processes from scratch? We are looking for a Head of Manufacturing to join our growing team of 30+ talented colleagues representing more than 20 nationalities.
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in advanced manufacturing and technology, who has a proven track record in implementing all aspects of Lean Manufacturing in an environment of advanced automation and robotics and is familiar with Six Sigma. In addition to that, we seek a resilient leader with a people-first approach and experience in managing teams of 10+ members as well as production units.
The role is permanent, full-time and on-site in Espoo, Finland. Your work will include traveling within Europe including the United Kingdom.
Your responsibilities:
Lead and grow a dedicated team in Finland and support hiring in overseas locations (i.e. UK, Netherlands, Germany)
Own our in-house manufacturing process and convert lab scale manufacturing to industrial scale
Establish work standards and develop a comprehensive training program for production units
Create and execute a factory ramp-up plan for overseas locations; support and scale manufacturing process there
Enhance quality control, constantly improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs
Lead and facilitate ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and factory production certification
You should have:
University degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in building manufacturing processes from scratch and scaling them, preferably in manufacturing industry; experience in precast or construction industry is a big plus
Significant experience in lean manufacturing and familiarity with Six Sigma strategies and tools
Knowledge of ISO standards and experience with factory production certification
Demonstrated leadership experience, managing teams of 10+ members and production units
A hands-on mentality, open mindset and creativity in finding unconventional solutions
Strong resilience with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written English language skills, and clear and effective communication
It’s a big plus if you also have:
Experience with robotic manufacturing
Some background in application engineering
