Do you thrive in a fast-paced and international start-up environment, and feel excited about gradually improving our 3D Concrete Printing manufacturing system? We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our growing team of 30+ talented colleagues representing more than 20 nationalities.
We are looking for a candidate with strong mechatronics work experience such as mechanical design, industrial instrumentation and commissioning. In addition to that, we are seeking a collaborative team player who communicates clearly, stays on top of their work priorities and is a documentation advocate.
The role is permanent, full-time and on-site in Espoo, Finland. Your work will include traveling within Europe, including the United Kingdom.
Your responsibilities:
As the Lead Mechatronics Engineer, you will continuously improve our manufacturing system (robotic 3D-printing cell, casting cell, logistics and post-processing) on our Espoo site:
Create and maintain documentation of manufacturing system
Maintain and update manufacturing system
Design, prototype and test mechatronics sub-systems consisting of sensors, actuators, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical components
- Turn mechatronics sub-systems prototypes into integrated system functions:
Create functional and technical descriptions
Create assembly and manufacturing drawings
Oversee manufacturing, installation and integration
You will lead the deployment and technical support of our manufacturing system at our overseas sites:
Create and maintain documentation of manufacturing systems
Leading small teams in installation and commissioning of 3D-printing systems on customers sites
Online support of 3D-printing systems operating on overseas Hyperion sites
Offline emergency support
Bi-annual maintenance of 3D-printing systems operating on overseas Hyperion sites
You have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
Demonstrable Mechatronics work experience
- Strong mechanical engineering background
SolidWorks proficiency
Experience with selection and integration of various actuators, pneumatic and electrical components
Experience in creating and maintaining system documentation
Experience in prototyping with 3D-printing technologies
- Strong instrumentation engineering background
Selection and implementation of various sensors into sub-systems, such as flow meters, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, distance sensors, etc.
Proven experience in playing an impactful role as a mechatronics engineer in commissioning projects
Proven experience in industrial programming, e.g., integrating analogue sensors to the PLC, programming closed loop control systems, embedded programming, programming simulations
Proficient verbal and written English language skills, and clear and effective communication
It’s a big plus if you also have:
Experience providing remote and on-site mechatronics support
Experience with PLC programming with Structured Text
Experience with machine safety integration
Programming with Python
Understanding of fluid dynamics principles and their application in real-world scenarios
Industrial experience using FEM for design and analysis
Experience with industrial robotic arms
Experience working in R&D and in a fast-paced startup environment
